Four Female Grooming Mistakes

I found this story saying women shouldn't shave their legs first thing in the morning or in a hot bath. And the surprising one was that they shouldn't wax near their period. Can't figure that out.

Anyway, here's the link:

Will be curious to hear what you think .

  1. i know waxing bikini area near a period is said to hurt more cos of the changes in the hormones and what not. i don't know about the leg waxing tho.

and in a hot tub the pores are open. as you shave there is a higher incidence of leaving the skin susceptible to HPV infections. in a hot tub with the soapy water and whatever dirt is floating around in there this increases the risk considerably.

it can cause bumps, pimply growths/tags at the site of each hair follicle as the skin is "nicked" from the blade. (even tho there is NO real nick... micro cuts as it were.)

  6. I am a shaving kind of gal by nature, but never noticed a difference between AM and PM shaving....interesting.

  7. I always seem to time my waxing with my period, very frustrating! I think that the problem with it is that it is considered to be more painful as the body has started pumping out prostaglandins as part of the menstrual process and they enhance the pain response (if I remember correctly from college). Still I tend to fall asleep during the waxing so I think I go into a minor sub-space as a result of the rhythmic application of pain.
