Ready to laugh?

Here's a good joke from sunnygirl's blog:

http://sunnygirls-aimlessramblings.blogspot.com/2012/12/morning-sex.html

My kicker is that I told this joke to some retired guys and they said at their age, the eggs would be hard boiled.

But then the more foreplay, the better.

A White Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hope all the members of our little community are having a wonderful Christmas.

I'm visiting the grandkids and we had a white Christmas. There were flurries starting when we went into church on Christmas Eve and when we came out there was a blanket of snow on the ground. And it stopped after an inch or so so we have a nice Currier and Ives white blanket on the ground without dealing with a major storm.

The grandkids are 10 and 9 and one has already figured out the Santa thing so we don't have many years left of leaving cookies out for Santa.

So again, Merry Christmas. And does anyone get a Christmas spanking?

Can you believe this?

Did you see this story about a dental assistant being fired for being"irresistible'' and the courts upheld the firing. Sounds like something out of the 1950s.

What do you think?

She Said It

I thought I'd share a post from my good girl on how she felt when she finally said it.

All I can add is that life doesn't get much better than when you love and are loved and that you can express those feelings.

Breastfeeding

You will not get a Christmas card this year showing Mary breastfeeding Jesus.

But did you know that for over a thousand years, paintings of Mary breastfeeding were very common. But according to this article, the invention of the printing press made porn possible and sexualized women's bodies and breasts. And paintings of Mary breastfeeding were no longer considered appropriate. And the crucification -- and I would say the Resurrection -- became the dominant religious themes.

It's also interesting that in our times, bottle feeding became very popular but now there is a trend for women to go back to breastfeeding and for working women to use a pump to keep a ready supply of breast milk. Interesting how times change.

Anyway, here's the link to the article along with a series of pictures of paintings about Mary breastfeeding.

Men and Women

Here's an interesting NY Times article about social science. It says men are dumber around women. And that women inhibit their own performance or try not to act as smart as they really are. In math tests, women do better if they sign a fake name than their real name.

The interaction between men and women is so fascinating. Here's the link:

Keeping the Flame Alive

Here's an interesting story about Kevin Bacon's wife talking about how they keep their 24-year marriage very hot.

Kyra Sedgwick says he has high moral standards, doesn't lie or cheat and she finds that sexy. He also "makes me feel like I'm the only beautiful woman in the room -- the only girl in the room. He says, "honey, you look beautiful. You are sexy. Always, Always, Always!''

Good advice for men. Don't women like to be told they are beautiful and sexy. And now that they are empty nesters, they spend more time walking around the house naked.

Dealling with Stress

We all have stress in our lives and I think blogging is a good way of dealing with it. We can be candid here about how lives, the good and the bad.

Anyway, saw this article in the N.Y. Times about dealing with stress. Simple things like breathing, taking a walk, riding a bike. I thought you might find it interesting. Here's the link:

I try to play a lot of tennis, which I think helps dealing with stress. Last week, played seven times. Don't usually get to play that often but try to play a few times a week.

Giving up Hollywood

With the holiday season coming up, it means that it's time for "It's a Wonderful Life'' to be on TV again.

It used to be on all the time but the rights were bought up and it's now shown only on a limited basis in the holiday season. It's a Frank Capra classic. I would think most of you have seen it but it's always good to introduce it to another generation.

Anyway, I found this story that one of the actresses in the movie gave up her career to marry the man she loved and moved to Michigan to raise a family and they're still together in their 80s and she has no regrets or second thoughts. Kind of a love story for the holidays.

Should a Woman Propose?

Here's an article saying students at one college don't think a woman should propose. I was kind of surprised to think college students feel this way. I think it's kind of old-fashioned that only the man should propose. What do you think? Here's the link:

http://now.msn.com/marriage-proposal-study-no-one-wants-women-to-pop-the-question

For those of you who saw the movie Blindside, the couple at the center of the movie did an interview and he was asked when he first realized that the wife was going to run things even though he was a successful businessman. He replied, "When she handed me the ring and told me it was time to propose.''

BDSM's 12 Days of Christmas

I posted a version of the BDSM version of the 12 Days of Christmas this last year but I think it's appropriate at this time of year. Here's the link:

http://community.fortunecity.ws/westwood/painting/170/id31.htm

Meanwhile, I can't believe Christmas is two weeks from this coming Tuesday. So much to do -- gifts to buy and cards to address -- and so little time.

Which reminds me if you don't watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, he did a spoof on the idea that there is a War on Christmas. He said Christmas has obviously won if there is such a war because it seems to have already swallowed up Thanksgiving Day. It's pretty funny if you want to google it.

Marrying a first cousin

Here'a story about a guy whose wife died and he married a first cousin. This is apparently illegal in a lot of states and his kids were upset. What do you think?
