Pit hair

Here's story about a photographer who took a series of pictures of women with armpit hair. The idea is about the natural look.

Of course, it is almost unheard of these days for women not to shave their pits but I thought I'd share the photos. I'm not sure when it became feminine for women to shave their pits but now it is almost universal.

  1. I personally don't like the look and although I know it shouldn't be a big deal... when I look at those... I kinda scrunch my face and say... ewwwwww. I guess I am being a prude.. but... I want to tell them to put their arms down lol.

    1. Yes, definitely ewwwwwwwwwww. I'm generally in favor of natural, mostly, there's nothing artificial on me, but of all the things women are expected to do to make themselves look good, that men don't need to do in order to look good, underarm shaving was definitely the one for sure great idea.

    2. Solo and Tiklish. I am not surprise you hate pit hair. Most women do these days. What I find interesting is that for thousands of years it was normal and in the last century, it became something women hated. Shows how attitudes change.

  2. My Master made me grow my pit hair out once because he was curious about what it would be like. He didn't mind it, but I hated it the whole time. He let me shave again before we went to an event where other people would see my armpits, thank goodness.

    1. I admit I like women growing it as a sign of submission. You were fortunate he let you shave for the event. Has he allowed you to keep shaving.

  5. i wonder if this hatred of it is an american thing? Far more relaxed attitude over here in te UK, although the media would have you think otherwise - but then they're out to sell razors/wax etc.

sometimes I shave, sometimes I don't. I actually find that some hair in the summer is better - everything keeps cleaner and dryer and hardly whiffy at all. I haven't used deodrent for years and years - so long as you wash frequently it's not a problem, so my body has reblanced, hence pit hair working as it should I suppose.

It's the same with leg hair and pussy hair for me - sometimes I like being smooth, sometimes I let it grow out. If my husband expresses a preference I'm obviously happy to indulge him - he likes it smooth but it perfectly happy for me to be hairy too, it's all good!

Certainly my mother's generation didn't shave.

    1. I have no idea if it's American or not. All I can tell you is I've never seen underarm hair on any woman in my entire life, including my grandmothers who were born over 100 years ago.

    2. I understand armpit hair is more common in Europe. II would be curious to know how shaving got started. The tennis star Martina Navatilova wrote in his bio that she didn't have much pit much growing up and she felt out of place at the beach.

  6. I used to live near a "hippy" town. I've seen a lot of pit hair. When ever I go through a period of time where I don't have a partner I relish in not having to shave. Shaving is a pain. Currently I'm seeing someone who prefers a hairy bush. I feel almost naked at the idea of letting my hair grow...go figure!

  7. Interesting that pit hair is associated with hippies. Yes, shaving is a pain. But women do it. Also interesting that you feel almost naked with the idea of letting your hair grow.
