Is it just me or do women not get many hickeys anymore? And if not, why not? I don't seem to notice them much anymore. I remember when girls wore scarves to cover them. I wonder if couples don't do as much foreplay as they used to and go right for the sex.
Anyway, I thought of this when I saw this story on one of the Kardashians having a hickey. The Kardashians are a story in themselves. I don't know how they become famous or how many they are. I just hear their names a lot.
Anyway, here's the link of one of them supposedly having a hickey.
And do many of our bloggers get hickeys these days? I like a lot of foreplay that leaves hickeys.
FD
I think that maybe women have just progressed to doing a really good job covering them up with make-up lol.
ReplyDeleteLil: Maybe you're right that women do a better job of covering them up. LOL.
DeleteFD
Florida Dom,
ReplyDeleteI get hickeys in places that won't be visible to the children, sometimes, but not very often. Daddy is worried, understandably, that our older girls will notice:).
Love,
Kitty
P.S. It's funny because even our 15 year old son gets a hoot out of laughing over the Kardashians latest exploits.
Kitty: Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a problem with the older girls noticing. I think it sends a positive message that their parents are still into each other. But I understand you may find it awkward. Just like I think it's good when parents touch each other in front of the kids to show their affection.
DeleteI'm not much into pop culture so I'm not up on the exploits of the Kardashians except that they seem to be famous for being famous without accomplishing anything.
FD
You raise a very good point and don't worry, the kids all know we're very much in love. Our daughter, M, the one you met, told me that one of her friends told her that she thought it was so sweet that we were still so affectionate with each other and she hopes to have a marriage like Daddy and I's someday.
DeleteI will pass along your thoughts to Daddy on the subject of visible hickeys. I'll let you know what he says!
Love,
Kitty
Kitty: I'm sure your kids know you are very much it's love and it's great that you let your kids to see how affectionate you are with one another. And what a compliment that M wants to have a marriage just like her parents. They often say girls marry guys like their father and M can't go wrong if she does that. She's such a nice young woman. A credit to her wonderful parents.
DeleteWill be interested in seeing what Daddy thinks about visible hickeys. I have no trouble with them but then that's me.
FD
I think lil is right. I don't see as many anymore. I don't get them where they're noticable.
ReplyDeleteFD, you are a sweetheart. Thanks so much for all your kind comments. I will check in with you next week about our little contest. When are you going to see your good girl next?
Get cracking on the next installment of "Lisa's Story" or I'm going to have to round up the gang to give you a cyber spanking. ;)
Kiki
Kiki: So is he careful not to mark your neck where it is visible?
DeleteAnd thanks for the compliments, Kiki. I still hope I can convince you to blog. You probably have an edge in our little contest since we are in a LDR relationship. And as far as my "next'' meeting with my good girl, it will be our first and we're both kind of nervous about it. Hopefully, it will be in the next couple of months.
Have you read all the previous Lisa chapters? If so, I guess I'll have to get cracking on another chapter before you round up your cyber posse.
FD
For years I worked in an environment that made hickeys in visible places a big no-no, so if it happens it's not somwhere anyone would see. Personally I love when he leaves marks on me :)
ReplyDeletefaerie: Nice that you love being marked. My good girl loves to wear my marks, too.
DeleteFD
The last time I had a hickey that was visible to people was 2002. My boss at the time asked me to put a bandage over it.
ReplyDeleteNow I just have them in places no one can see. Better that way. :)
Conina: Gosh, you remember the date of your last visible one? I guess when the boss asked you to put a bandage on it, that would leave an impression. So I assume you caution him about not marking you in places that can't be seen.
DeleteFD
I LOVE hickeys! Particularly on my neck. And I don't care if it's high school-ish; I don't cover them up, I show them proudly. :-D
ReplyDeleteErica: Congrats on loving hickeys and wearing them proudly. That shows he cares enough about you to leave his marks.
DeleteFD
Yeah, the front of my neck. If they're on the side of my neck, my hair is long enough to cover them up.
ReplyDeleteI have read all the chapters. I think I was about half way through when you wrote the last one. I didn't want to read it until I had finished the previous chapters; but, the first sentence roped me in. I reread it after catching up. I wasn't sure whether or not it was the final chaper; it could have gone either way.
I'm glad that you are going to continue. The story line is hot, steamy, exciting and it's so different from other stories I have read. Do you want me to give you a deadline? Oooh, I'm starting to feel like a top and it feels good. Lol.
Kiki
Kiki: You give me a lot of incentive to write more when you say the stories are hot, steamy and exciting. I love the idea that when some women read my stories, they get that warm, wet feeling between their legs. It is encouragement from women like you that has motivated me to write so many chapters. When I started writing them, I didn't know if they would appeal to women.
DeleteHey, let's make a deal. you write a comment describing your two sessions yesterday and I will get cracking on another chapter. I love to hear what other couples do.
Oh,and do you have closet top feelings?
FD
bite marks and scratches on him. Whip marks and bruises on me? yes. Hickeys? Never. We both agree that it is not very professional to go to work looking like you were attacked by a leach.
ReplyDeleteNice that you leave bit marks and scratches on him and he leaves whip marks and bruises on you. Sounds like you have a lot of fun together.
DeleteFD
Hello Florida Dom
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Easter to you and yours.
As for hickey's I find them offensive. Now I realise that is a rather loaded word; however, it suits my feelings towards them. Master has given me a few, much to my chagrin all on my neck or top of my breast where people can see them and I work very hard at hiding them. I can recall my teenage years when girls wore them like prizes. I did not like them then and I do not like them now.
I guess though they are no different than bruises on a bottom from a caning or spanking. Then again, I am not overly fond of those as well.
~a
goodgirl: No problem if you don't like hickeys or bruises. We all have our different tastes and that's fine. I always say there is no formula for ttwd. It is what works for each couples. But, frankly, I love to leave marks and bruises.
DeleteFD
Hickeys....yes, I do give them to Chloe...in discrete places where only she can enjoy viewing them...we do enjoy marking one another...again, discretion is needed, required...It is quite enjoyable giving her my marks of ownership.
ReplyDeleteJack
Jack: Nice that you like to give her marks of your ownership.
DeleteFD
Master puts them in places that aren't visible. He's so cute about it. Will anyone see your breasts? Uh. Nobody but you! Who else would see them?
ReplyDeleteBefore Master though, no, no one ever left any marks on me.
As for not as much foreplay possibly being a reason, yeah, that could play a part too, in general. The days of sitting on the couch kissing for a while, before moving on to breast-fondling, before moving lower, seems to be long gone, which is too bad. That would actually get me aroused for sex. Well, at least it did when I was young.
t1klish: Nice that you are being marked now.
DeleteAnd, yes, I think foreplay has become a lost art. The kissing and fondling were nice and I still love foreplay and lots of it. I like to have her begging for more. Foreplay used to be part of the seduction scenes, but now many couples just seem to go for the sex.
FD
We call them love bites over here..which i think sounds so much nicer lol
ReplyDeleteBut whatever they may be called i dont like them, giving or recieving, which i know sounds odd considering im a lover of being marked but just not marked in that way.
tori xx
tori: I like the term love bites even if you don't like them. In what ways do you like being marked?
DeleteFD
Mostly marks achieved through s/m, cane stripes are my favourite, bruises, welts...i think its just that although im a masochist i really dont like being bitten..i know im odd lol
Deletetori x
tori: Interesting that you are a masochist but don't like being bitter. But as long as it works for you, that's good.
ReplyDeleteFD
Not to be disagreeable, but I thought hickeys were different than bite marks. It's my understanding that a hickey results from, in my opinion, luscious sucking at sensitive points on the body, designed to arouse (and they do, at least on me, lol)
DeleteLove,
Kitty
P.S. It's great that this post has generated so many comments FD!
I think your most likely right kitty..i just dont like that sensation lol i think its mainly sucking and can involve light biting, i have had them but i dont like the appearence of them.
Deletetori
Kitty: Yes, I usually think of hickeys being caused by sucking, not biting although some light biting usually adds to the sensation. Nice they get you aroused. And, yes, the topic has gotten a lot of attention. The strange thing is that it didn't get a large number of page views but I love all the comments.
Deletetori: I can understand if you don't like the appearance. Do you like other kinds of marks?
FD
I feel like hickeys just take a lot of work! Having someone suck on a part of my body long enough and hard enough to leave a mark doesn't do much for me. I much prefer being bitten! :)
ReplyDeleteApsara
Apsara: Interesting that you prefer being bitten to being sucked on. And interesting that different women like different things.
DeleteFD
As a professional 40 year old woman I would not be ok with that. As a mother I want our daughters to learn how to package herself as an appropriate and independent woman. I think it's ok to present yourself as sexy in a classy way and model that for your children, but a visible love bite doesn't fit that picture for me. Teenagers area different ball of wax, they want to show they are loved, I have tried to drill into my boys head that it is unnecessary to "mark" each other. So far so good. At least from what I can see.
ReplyDeleteLaurie
Laurie: Sounds like you have good communication with your teens. But wonder if their mother advising against doing something makes them want to try it. Teens are like that.
DeleteFD
I do adolescent medicine, trust me I know. I do address the hickey issue with the girls when I see it ("Honey,You are beautiful you deserve to be on a pedestal, make him him worship, not mark you like your property"sort of speech) god knows what my kids don't tell m, but at least they censor what they do. I'll take it.
DeleteL
Laurie: I think what adolescent girls and adult women do are two different issues. And sounds like you have a good relationship with your kids.
DeleteFD
I love them, and wear them proudly, always have. I don't care who sees them. I think its good for people to see that there are some really fun couples among them in very healthy relationships.
ReplyDeleteJacquie: Nice that you wear them proudly and are having fun in a healthy relationship.
DeleteFD
I know that your post was not about the Kardashians, but are am I the only one they kind of tick off? I am not really into reality TV unless it revolves around some skill, like cooking, but I have cruised by the Kardashian show on occasion and stopped to watch. I know I am particularly sensitive to how men and women speak to each other, but what did it for me was Kris Jenner had redone the garage and wouldn't allow Bruce Jenner to park his motorcycle in the garage, so he moved out to sleep in the garage. How do they stay together with that sort of interaction? Does Bruce just put up with it because she is the bread winner? Is he a kept man (LOL)?
ReplyDeleteOkay, rant over! Didn't mean to hijack your blog, FD. I can tie it in though, who do you think would have the hickeys in that relationship, Bruce or Kris?
cygnet: I don't follow the exploits of the Kardashians but I get the impression they manage to tick a lot of people off. And you didn't hijack my blog. I welcome all comments. And I don't know who would have most hickeys in that relationship. LOL.
DeleteFD
Hi FD,
ReplyDeleteI haven't commented sooner because; I tried;
really tried to describe our sexual encouters and it was awful.I failed, miserably. It's not that easy to do. I'm better at reactive than descriptive writing. I give you and Kitty a lot of credit. You make it look so easy.
About how your stories make women feel; I had just finished one of the chapters when Scott came home. I told him, "Thank god you're home.
We need to have sex right now!" So yeah, your stories do have an effect. Lol.
Kiki
Kiki: Thanks for trying. I don't know if you failed or are just being hard on yourself. If you want to email me your attempt, I'd be happy to give you some input.
DeleteAnd thanks for letting me know that my stories can have that effect on you. Flattery like that gives me incentive to write more chapters.
FD
I remember getting a few hickeys when I was in high school..not much after that.
ReplyDeleteDuring sex ( when my children were living at home) I often bit my upper arm in an effort to be a bit quieter. That left a mark but not a hickey really.
Now Sir leaves all sorts of marks where they can't be seen..usually. But no hickeys. His interests lie elsewhere.. and that's fine with me~
Interesting that you bit your arm when the kids were home to keep quieter. Hmmm, maybe that's a blog post idea about making noise.
DeleteAnd nice that he leaves all sorts of marks that can't be seen.
FD
Wow.. you got quite the response from this FD.. who knew hickeys would raise such a ruckus !!!
ReplyDeleteBeen a long time since I have sported a hickey but I sure spent a lot of money on make up covering them up as a teen. Mom would've killed me if she saw them.
Great topic.. and great response.
Hope all is well!!!!!
Solo: All is well here and, yes, hickeys did get quite a response. I guess you did a good job of covering them up when you were a teen. Have you ever seen hickeys on your own kids?
DeleteFD
I too did get a few hickeys in high school but have not had one since. I guess I have traded them in for bite mark bruises but they are not usually visble...mostly on my inner thighs and butt. There is plenty of foreplay around here, if it's a lost art the younger generations are totally missing out.
ReplyDeletedancing: Nice to hear you are getting plenty of foreplay that leaves bite mark bruises on your inner thighs and butt. Let's hope the younger generation realizes the joy of foreplay.
ReplyDeleteFD
I have to admit.. I have NOT seen them on my own kids.. but, maybe they have done a great job of covering them up as well !!
ReplyDeleteI do recall .. back in "my day" it was cool to have hickeys. We weren't having sex back then but, it showed people you did have a boyfriend/girlfriend... and you were making out. I laugh now at the thought but, we thought we were hot stuff back then!
Solo: Yes, back in the day, making out and having hickeys was cool and a lot of fun. I think young couples today may miss some of the fun of making out when they go quickly right to the sex.
DeleteFD
I love the topic; as a teenager, had a few, much to the outrage of my mother, so it had to be curtailed (I had one boyfriend that loved to leave them on my neck)...and now, well, Surfer leaves marks in unseen places, since I have to hide them from the H and from the public due to my professional life. They are marks to remind me of the connection between us, and I like them.
ReplyDeleteUSM: It's nice that you enjoy being marked. I understand you have to hide them but being marked does remind you of the connection you two have.
DeleteFD
Yes I get "love bites" but they are unseen by the general public. Due to my profession he leaves them in places that only I will see them. There are days that I can't wear my hair up because he has left one the back of my neck.
ReplyDeleteI remember in high school feeling mortified that anyone would see something like that on me; it invites certain thoughts that are nobody's business.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the sensations that leave hickies, but like many above, as a professional it's not okay to have them visible. My previous lover left a huge conspicuous hickey on my neck when I was working in a school. I learned quickly how to cover it up with makeup and wore my hair down all week. It was nervewracking and I was extremely paranoid about it.
Sir tends to stop just short of leaving marks, or he may leave them in inconspicuous places. Maybe a nice scarf in would help for the future..
