Cosmo Touts Kinky Sex

Here's another example that kinky sex continues to dip its toe in the mainstream. Cosmo had this article on kinky sex. Pretty tame stuff but interesting that they would bring up the subject.
Here's the link:
Will be curious to get your reaction.

  1. Every suggestion they give has the woman ultimately in control of the action. *sighs* I miss editor Helen Gurley Brown and the good old days when Cosmo encouraged women to be strong, yet submissive. The magazine holds no interest for me now.

    1. Remember when Helen Gurley Brown publshed "Sex and the Single Girl'' in 1962. It caused a sensation by advocating young professional women sleep around and enjoy sex before they were married, which "nice'' girls didn't do in that era. At age 37, three years before the book she married movie mogul David Brown, who produced "Jaws'' and "The Sting'' among other hits. They were married for over 50 years before he died in 1959. She truly had it all. She was oustee as editor of Cosmo in 1997 even though Cosmo still ranked 6th in newstand sales and No. 1 in college campus bookstores for 16 straight years.

  2. There is a place and time for topping from the bottom. A time for him to learn how to push her buttons. That isn't always automatic. He can't read her mind. Sorry men. You are not always all knowing. Given the confidence and authority, most men step right up and dominate after a few sessions of "do it like this".

That has been my experience anyway. It is good to see this in Cosmo. The sad part is that the super conservative women who need to see it, won't even pick up the magazine. Kink isn't dirty or sinful.

    1. Interesting that topping from below works for you and you teach your men how to push your buttons and then they take over. As long as it works for you, that's good. And, yes, kink isn't dirty or sinful.

  3. All I could think when I was reading that article,

"I'm sure glad Daddy isn't a wimpy guy like that. I'd never want a man that would let me be in charge."

But, that's not politically correct these days for a woman to crave her man being in charge in a relationship!

Thanks for sharing, FD! It makes me appreciate Daddy even more;)!

    Love,
    Kitty

    1. Kitty: You and Daddy are obviously perfect for each other. Shame the article didn't show women being submissive.

  4. I read this a couple of weeks ago when the magazine came to work, and thought of doing a piece on it. Thus isn't the first time Cosmo has had an article/survey on kinky sex, or spanking. Of course, they must push the 'sexual only, female in total control' aspect to be PC. I shudder at what their take would be on male-dominated aspects if kink.

  5. I must correct myself. What I read a couple weeks ago was in Glamour magazine, about "kinky sex having fine mainstream". But still, this isn't the first time I've read about kink in Cosmo either. :)

    1. Having *gone* mainstream. Autocorrect on phone sometimes sucks.

    2. I googled it and in February they had an article on 5 Kinky Things Men are craving and My Guide to Kinky Sex -- Vol. 2-3. It was biting and spanking, but, alas, had the women doing both. And the 5 things included her using a riding crop on his back. I guess it is difficult for mainstream mags to talk about the woman being submissive.

  6. I find it funny that the things in the article are considered kinky. But I guess that says more about me and what I think of as kink then it does the article.

    1. I guess they can't suggest what we consider kinky. LOL.
