Mother's Day

I want to wish all the mothers out there a happy Mother's Day although we should probably be celebrating mothers more than one day a year. It may be the toughest job in the world and you tend to do it when you are young and still finding yourself.

But I also want to remember all the women out there who areen't mothers. I hate it at church when they ask all the mothers to stand up. I always think of the women who don't stand up. I know some women aren't mothers because they chose not to be and I am fine with that.

On the other hand, some women aren't mothers because they weren't able to have kids or their spouses didn't want to have kids.Or they stayed single and didn't want to be a single mother. My sister knows a woman who married a guy who told her up front he wasn't going to have kids. She married him anyway but told him contraception would be his responsibility. And maybe she thought he might change his mind. But every single time without fail, he used a condom and that never failed.

So I just want to wish a good day to all women.

  2. Very nice indeed. All women should be recognized in a special way .. regardless of their parental status.

    Thanks for thinking of this.

  3. Thanks, lovely thoughts. I feel that way as well. I have friends who desperately wanted to be mothers and could not. It's not always a choice. You are a thoughtful person.
