A Good Enough Life

There is a lot of talk these days about the lives women live in our society.

Here's an interesting take by Elsa Walsh, who happens to be the wife of journalist Bob Woodward of Watergate fame and a successful reporter and wrier in his own right.  She talks about her life and the challenges women face in having a full life and her views on having a good enough life.

Here's the link:

If ordinary is the best day of my life i take it all the time.
slow down work will be there but family events and children growing won't
    stop and smell the roses.

  2. It was a good article, with a lot of interesting insights. i think maybe she sets up some false dichotomies in some places, but overall what she says rings true to me. i think it applies more to people in general than it does to individuals though. i think for some women, expressing their talents, developing and using their gifts, might be the driving force in their lives. That may be right for them, and certainly we, as a society, benefit from it - dedicated doctors and scientists, writers, astronauts, and so on.

In the same way, i guess i think this is a good perspective for anyone to have, To remember that love is at the center of it all and that the ordinary day is an extraordinary gift.

    Thanks for posting this.
