Economic problems?

You've probably heard we have economic problems these days.

Yet the dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she stood on the subway gate and it blew it up just sold for $4.6 million and $5.5 million with fees. Anybody who spends that much money for that dress obviously has too much money.

For those of you too young to remember the photo, just google it. The crazy thing is that by today's standards, it looks pretty tame. You can barely see a glimpse of her panties. But it was considered very sexy at the time and apparently Joe DiMaggio, who was married to her then, was upset about the scene from the movie, "The Seven-Year Itch.''

Interesting that there is no athlete today like Joe DiMaggio and no actress like Marilyn. Not sure why but can you imagine a song today with the line, "Where have you gone Derek Jeter?'' And Joe was upset about the song until it was explained to him that the line celebrated his iconic status.

Anyway, I wonder what the person who bought that dress is going to do with it?

  1. That is an insane amount of money for a dress!
I could make it stretch to a dress and an island home in the tropics, lol

  2. It wasn't me! Some people have more money than sense. Just think how many good spanking implements could have been purchased with that money and distributed to needy spankos!

PK: Love the idea of using the money to give spanking implements to the needy spankos!!!
