Every time R goes to Home Depot he asks if there is anything we need? I always say Rope. One of these days I'm hoping he'll take me seriously and bring it home.
wow..love that pic. also love palying with bondage. There is something about being tied and unable to resist at all, might as well just relax and enjoy. Of course, trust needs to have been established. abby
Mmmmm... I love being all bound up in rope. It's been years since we've done any rope bondage though. In fact our rope is currently serving as a clothes line outside (where I live you can still dry your clothes outside when the sun is out). We got into rope bondage just after I got pregnant with our first born so we couldn't do it long, then it just seemed we never had time, and now I'm pregnant again. Perhaps someday we'll bring it back.
I love the picture. It's very beautiful. I think rope bondage like that is like kinky lingerie, it adorns and enhances, and it's simply decoration, gorgeous!
That is a beautiful picture... I love the artistry of it as well as the "potential" it hints at.
I love the idea of bondage myself. It is a freedom more than a limitation. It takes away any resistance that you might put up for both pleasuring and being pleasured... if you find that kind of trust with someone, rope can tie you *both* together. ;)
I love the picture and although it may be called bondage, it really is much more artistic than any bondage I've known. I do love being bound. The freedom to just "be there" at his mercy is very appealing. Of course there are times I try to get away; so far I have failed with great regularity. Of course I trust him totally.. otherwise he wouldn't tie me up~~
I think the picture is beautiful, artistically, but that's all it does for me. Formal bondage, you might call it, has no real appeal for me. I like to be cuffed or tied to the bed occasionally but to take all that time with ropes and such doesn't interest me.
i love being bound, and would love to be bound like that ~ attached to something so i don't just fall over! i love the sensual feel of rope as it goes around me, the feeling of being contained and held, the eroticism of it all...
Tiffany: Maybe you can convince him to try a less complicated version that would take less patience. If you would love to try it, it would be a shame not to give it a go in some fashion.
I agree with PK, that doesn't do anything for me. I wouldn't mind having my wrists bound, or to the bed, but being wrapped in rope would make me feel cocooned and claustrophobic. Even just looking at the picture makes me uncomfortable.
If you look closely, it is really a rather simple tie job. The tricky part seems to be getting the diamond patterns in the right places to be artistically pleasing. I've seen much more intricate work, but this is still very nice looking.
Shiari is art and riggers take an immense amount of pride in their rope skills. My OH is anally retentive about His hemp lengths!
Rope bondage is so very much more than simple binding and constricting of the body. It is aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. Then there's the rope care. My OH buys 150ft lengths of untreated hemp...it then has to be boiled, soaked, dried and linseed oiled to be properly cared for. It is extremely tactile both for the rigger and the ropeslut.
Shibari, as in the picture, is not as common as fusion type bondage because essentially the ropes do not contain knots. The reason for using hemp in Shibari is that friction helps to keep the bindings in place. Intricate knotwork rope bondage (fusion type bondage)is better suited to synthetic ropes which holds the knots better. See 'Two Knotty Boys' for some nice examples.
Both forms are pleasant but Shibari is stunning to look at and the hemp is slightly scratchy on the skin so feels much more divine than synthetic rope.
My Sir is a rope purist/rigger extraordinaire and so Shibari wins hands down in this house! It is a huge part of our kinky union.
love rope. It is my favorite bedroom accessory.
ReplyDeleteDragon's Rose: Good to hear you love rope. I thought the person who tied the woman in the picture was very good at bondage.

Rope work like that is an art form. Beautiful! I've been practicing and hope to be even half as good as that.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of tieing a woman up and having my wicked way with her, but pictures like the one you link just remind me of macramé.

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking macrame.

I love bondage but that is also art! Thank you for sharing something so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI've never been tied up so I really don't know if I'd like it or not. It does look like macrame, though!

ReplyDeleteYes, I like bondage but we don't do anything THAT intricate!

Southern Sir: Yes, it is an art form and good to hear you've been practicing.
ReplyDeleteperfect: You're not the only one to mention macrame.
Heather1: Let's hope he finally takes you seriously and brings it home. Why doesn't he take you seriously? Is he not into it?
abby: Oh, yes, trust is a big part.
sunnygirl: another macrame reference.
Alice: Let's hope you get back to it and hope all is going well on your pregnancy.
brty_ann: Since you love it, I hope you are being put in bondage on a regular basis.
Kitty: Another macrame reference and let's hope Daddy ties you up as some point and you can see if you like it.
Autumn: Good point on how rope can tie you together.
Nancy: Good to have you comment again and I hope you start a blog. Nice that you love being bound so I hope it happens quite often.
sarahthorne: Yes, it takes a lot of skill to do something that intricate.
PK: I understand it is not your thing. Different strokes for different folks.
being gaisha: Love your description of how erotic it is when you are bound.

I would love to try something like this but I don't think Master would have the patience for it, lol.

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful picture, but I can't really see myself tied that way. I'd rather just be tied up and ravished. LOL.
