I was previously married at 21! My then hubby couldn't tell the difference between what one drink versus 10 or more drinks were. He was as drunk as drunk could be on our wedding night and while I'd say I also had a fair amount, it was such a stressful day that I wasn't even close to tipsy. Needless to say, our wedding night wasn't the way you would maybe think it should be. Hmmm not a great start to the fairly short lived married life I had envisioned :)
Daddy had booked a suite at the Marriott right by the airport because we had to get up really early to catch a flight to a tropical island for our honeymoon.
One wall was entirely covered my windows overlooking a man made lake. There was a fabulous thunderstorm happening outside and the lightning went on for hours. I know it went on that long because I was so hyped up by the wedding that I couldn't sleep.
As far as the sex...we had mutually agreed to abstain until our wedding night after many times of not abstaining, lol! It had been months and I was a born again virgin. The sex was incredible and Daddy had so much pent up sexual energy that it went on for a looooong time. I will always remember the flashes of lightning that went on and on. To this day I love it when it storms and there's lots of lightning!
Love, Kitty
P.S. I was exhausted the next day, but I'm glad it happened that way...I slept some on the flight.
My husband and I basically eloped, a small ceremony at the Justice of the Peace, we planned everything in a week. His family cooked all week and organized a small reception for us. There was a small glitch with the license, as in the court house was closed the day before we were to be married due to an obscure holiday. No license, no wedding, but we had all kinds of food made and people expected, so we had the reception on the scheduled Saturday and we got married the following Monday after the court house opened and we could pickup the license. So I guess I had 2 wedding nights, they were both so long ago and are long faded memories now.
I was still a virgin at 24, I waited until I met Nick. We had a traditional southern church wedding, no booze at all. But we were still exhausted and stressed and needed to be up at 5 to catch a plane. We decided to wait until the next night and we were both just happy to fall in bed and cuddle as a married couple.
We'd been having sex for almost seven years at that point. The wedding was long, we were exhausted, and tipsy, and had to be up early to catch the boat. So by mutual agreement, we went to sleep. It was wonderful! We made up for it. 30 years later we're still making up for it :D
Since I was still living at home with my parents before we got married we were unable to be together for a week before the wedding. So R was very happy our wedding night and very frisky. It was a great night and we even managed to find time to have dinner. LOL
It was a very long stressful day. We made the mistake of having the hall rented to 1.00 am so everybody would have a great time. Exhausted, first time having sex, took it slow, woke up in her arms... Made it all up the second night... I guess I have to right a poem about the first time...
I had trouble finding your blog. Your icon in my followers only took me to your profile. I saw your comment on Heart and Soul and that icon brought me here. I'm putting you my links so i can visit ....
It wasn't all that. We had many nights of sexual pleasures that didn't include penetrative sex prior to our wedding night, and lots and lots of fabulous sex of all kinds after.. but that night? No. It was just a JOP ceremony and not a huge deal, and we didn't drink any alcohol, but he was so nervous it was mostly a flop (heh).
The sex was bad, bad, bad. In fact, I'm not even totally sure it happened, though I think it did. We'd been together for five years before then, and together five years since then, with plenty of fun times throughout, but not then! We were both TOTALLY stressed and exhausted, Plus there's this pressure to make it GREAT, which just makes it worse.
Actually it was pretty good - and we even had sex before we opened the cheques and presents. Classy?

We were tired, but it was still nice. Just slow and gentle and sweet.

ReplyDeleteAlice: Slow and gentle and sweet sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteKitty: Love that phrase born again virgin. And the flashes of lightning are a nice backdrop for a wonderful night.
Faerie: That was a good way to improvise when you couldn't get the license. And two wedding nights sounds like fun even if the memories are faded.

ReplyDeleteMy wifes period started that morning, so we only had a bath together. That sucked, but she gave in a couple days later at Disneyland and gave it up.

ReplyDeleteThe memories are only faded because I've been making new ones with him for 25 years, there all good.
