Here's a video of a woman in the Navy coming into port and giving her partner a kiss, something that they can do in public now that gays are allowed to serve openly in the military.

It shows that times are changing.
For many in the younger generation, being gay is like being lefthanded. A bit different from the majority but no big deal.

I hope all youth continues to be openminded. It will make for a much kinder, gentler world.
ReplyDeletesunnygirl: I couldn't agree more.

I am glad for the progress our youth is making.
ReplyDeleteWorking in the world of Cheelerading (and working in a high school) as I do, my girls are very used to having friends who are gay, as well as coaches.
They wouldn't bat an eyelash over it.
Recently my daughter has witnessed tolerance at her high school as a majority of classmates teamed up against the bullying of a male cheerleader (not just the cheerleader, but several other students as well).
I am so proud that they not only stood up to bullying, but also made it aware throughout the school that it wouldn't be tolerated there.
While it may not happen all over, it is getting better in some aspects.
I'm so happy to see the kids learn to have open minds, grow and accept all for whatever lifestyle choice they embrace.
Emi: Very inspiring post. Great to see the younger generation being open minded and doing the right thing.

I think it is amazing and wonderful! What a long way our world has come.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother was born in 1881.. saw horse and buggy to cars to rockets to the moon.
I know she would have been shocked.. even though there were many of her friends who were lesbians.
There were several female couples.. women who lived together for convenience .. but really, looking back .. that wasn't the reason.
I'm glad things have changed and surely it is a good thing.
Nancy: Yes, a good thing that times have changed.
