Oprah Goes Kinky

While watching the Lance Armstrong interview on Oprah's OWN network last night, they had a promo for a show on kink being shown next Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST, 9 CST. It references 50 Shades and says it is look at the BDSM world.

I know some of you spankos aren't into BDSM but I thought you might find it interesting although  shows like this often don't get into the bond that the D/s likestyle can help create between a Dom and a sub. I think the lifestyle makes for more intense relationships than vanilla couples have. That to me is the essence of the lifestyle. But the show is an example that the success of 50 Shades seem to be bringing the lifestyle to a more mainstream audience.

Here's a link to a five-minute preview of the show:

Breasts as a weapon

Here's a story about a woman accused of killing her boyfriend by smothering him with her breasts. Sounds unbelieveable but I thought I'd share it.

The End of Courtship

Here's an interesting article from the N.Y. Times on how the idea of a guy picking up the phone and asking a woman out on a date and taking her to a restaurant and a movie is so old-fashioned in our texting, hookup culture. Here's the link:

Will be interested in your thoughts.

A Difficult Decision

Did you read about the 24-year-old beauty pageant contestant who is having her breasts removed because of a history of breast cancer in her family even though she has no apparent problems at the moment. This story doesn't include the point that the woman's father encouraged her to do it after losing his wife and her mother to the disease.

Is this is a good idea? Would you do it in her circumstances? Here's a link to a story about whether that decision is a good idea:

Will be curious to hear your thoughts.

Jodie Foster's Speech

Did you see Jodie Foster's speech at the Golden Globes Sunday night? Here's a link:

http://news.moviefone.com/2013/01/13/jodie-foster-golden-globes-speech_n_2469446.html?ncid=webmail1

It's hardly news that she's gay but she's always been a very private person and some members of the gay community had hoped she would support the community more in the past by being more public. But it was a very heartfelt speech. And hard to believe she's been acting for 47 years and a star since Taxi Driver when she was 13. And she looks more 35 than 50.

Meeting a Vanilla Blogger

One of the best things about blogging is getting to know new people and in some cases actually meeting them.

Recently, for the third time, I met a blogger I got to know while reading their blogs and then starting to email. It's always interesting to meet someone you've only talked to in emails. And this time was different because she is a vanilla type who blogged about her breakup. She hasn't updated the blog in quite a while but here's the link:

Anyway, as with PK and with Kitty, who has since stopped blogging, it was a fun meeting and it was as if we had already known each other as we talked about our lives. It is so interesting to put a voice to the person you've emailed with. For those of you who've also met in person people you've got to know online, I think you can understand. They've all been fun experiences.

Anyway, if any of you wind up meeting a fellow blogger, I hope it goes as well as it has for me.

And, of course, I also met my good girl recently but we knew each other quite well before we met in person.

Happy New Year

Want to wish you and yours a Happy New Year filled with much joy and fulfillment.

And to all of those couples in this lifestyle in our little community, I hope you feel very connected to each other as you experience the fulfullment that comes with a D/s relationship. We all do things a little different but the key thing is that it works for us and we feel the wonder of loving and being loved.

My good girl and I are in a LDR but we were connected by phone as the ball dropped and we rang in the new year together and thought about all the wonderful times we plan to spend together in the coming year.

I love hearing her say, "Did I give you want you wanted?'' And she does. And I try to make her feel loved and cherished. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Again, Happy New Year.
